I just purchased a Joystick called LOGITECH ATTACK 3 shown below:

logitech.jpg

In Battlefield 2 when trying to calibrate it:

Moving it left/right - Axis 0 Moving it forward/backwards - Axis 1 Moving the little scroll button below the joystick - Axis 2

There doesn't seem to be any Axis 3 though and on this page (which is what I'm trying to base my settings on) there is Axis 0,1,2,3 - Battlefield 2 Joystick Setup

Any help on this would be appreciated, thanks.

You'll probably find axis 3 is when you twist the stick left/right. So you probably want axis 3 for turn left and right, and axis 2 to adjust speed.

Nah when I twist the joystick left or right it automatically sets the controls to Axis 0. I've tried moving it forward, backwards, diagonally etc but no Axis 3

Right, so...

Twisting it is axis 0. Moving it forwards and backwards is axis 1. Scrolling the wheel is axis 2.

What about moving the joystick left and right?

It may be that axis 1 covers all 'normal' joystick movement (i.e. left right forwards back), in which case you need to set it to something like this:

Accelerate - Axis 2 (push the wheel forward) Decelerate - Axis 2 (roll the wheel back)

Steer Right - Axis 0 (twist the stick right) Steer Left - Axis 0 (twist the stick left)

Pitch Fwd - Axis 1 (tilt stick forwards) Pitch Back - Axis 1 (" back) Roll Right - Axis 1 (" right) Roll Left - Axis 1 (" left)

Sorry when I said "twisting" left & right I meant moving it left & right. The joystick itself is just a stick, there's no twisty bits or anything like that on it.

I think that maybe there ISN'T an axis 3 for the joystick I'm using.

My logitech Joystick has no turning bits, but it does literally turn to the left and right without learning the stick in a direction.

I think that is what Bs|Archaon was refering to. Try that.

Logitech attack 3 Config - Total Battlefield 2 Forums

That site contains a configuration file. You may also want to update your drivers.

I searched around, and I found a lot of very forgiving reviews. There seems to be something wrong with the X-Axis of the joystick.

I think you'll find that if you hold the stick and twist it, it will turn to the left and right. It's not a 'twisty bit' or anything 'on it', the stick itself should twist. There's your axis 3.
