Does the PC beep at you or what? If it does, then it's a limitation on the keyboard. Not a problem as such, but a limitation.

I think I had this problem before too. Mine never beeped at me though. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. NOw I have a new keyboard and it works fine.

Are you sure that W and D arent bound to two diffrent keys?

Try using a diffrent keyboard.

Is this a USB or PS/2 keyboard that you're experencing problems with?

When I had problems, it was with PS/2. Now I'm on USB.

Since it's a common thing and you've just replaced the keyboard, I'd say it's definately the keyboard. But it's not actually a problem with the hardware as such, so you can't RMA it or anything.

As for the beep, whether you get one or not depends on the computer hardware and how it's set up. Namely whether there's a speaker on the motherboard (or in the case and connected to the motherboard).
