my mate has PANDA anti virus on his comp and he opened NORTON anti virus and didnt close down PANDA and his comp keeps freezing up and wont let him open anything and he doesnt want to format his drive if he can help it any one know what he can do thanks
Restart the computer? Or does it continuously happen everytime he reboots?
Unstall Panda Anti virus? Turn it off in msconfig?
Panda...Destroy. It. Now. Worst antivirus program ever. There's no sense in having both Panda and Norton on your system, they'll just conflict, crash and generally cause weirdness. Not to mention they actually impair each other's performance. Pick an antivirus (I would recommend keeping Norton in your mate's case) and stick with it.
I would recommend ditching Panda and getting Avast! - it usually updates more than once daily and can stop viruses from even being written to backing storage (something which AVG can't do), meaning it can be deleted before it does any sort of harm at all. It is also highly configurable scan-wise.
Unstall Panda Anti virus? Turn it off in msconfig? he cant open add and remove programmes it just freezes I dont know what msconfig is can ya tell me how to use it
is that ctrl alt delete ifso that dont even work
Ahh got ya cheers REVEN il let yall know thanks very much
msconfig - you should find that in 'processes' on your Task Manager
Start > Run > 'msconfig' (without quotes)
well there is always usually options besides reformatting the comp, if its completely frozen every time you put it on and you cant do anything with it, pull the hard drive out, throw it in as a slave into your computer, then delete panda after windows boots up on your machine, that should hopefully take care of it
You may have to go into safe mode and use msconfig from there to disable panda. or, even if you could, uninstall it right from safe mode. to get into safe mode, keep tapping F8 when your pc is starting up, and it will give you an option as to which modem you wish to start up in. good luck!
