Yes, it is... First thing I see is that at least he has a computer to turn on when he comes home rather then looking at his $300-500 video card which is still in the box waiting for the computer to be assembled. That's whats so cool about building your own, you save money, the experience and you can upgrade later on. Which in his case, would happen with the video card... Now this $500 and some, does not include the monitor [obviously] so considering what you paid, I'd say it's a good mid-range gaming PC with or without the video card. If you want a better video card [given your configuration] get the 6600GT, it owns the Radeon 9800pro for almost the same price. The Radeon 9800pro is still good for most of todays games, but you could get a better bang for your buck nowadays [6600GT being that.]

Yeah , how can you game with that POS card?!?!?!?!?... at least get a standard 9200 instead of SE, that can actually handle CoD... If you wanna play HL2 get a 9600pro or better. You could have spared the 40gig mp3 player and got a "decent" (read: kickass) videocard instead. BTW @ everyone... i'm sick of reading things like "9800 is still 'o.k.' for gaming these days... you have to get AT LEAST a 9600XT ... " I have a 9600Pro and get about 50 fps in all games with everything set at highest... even HL2. Why doesn't everyone just get an X800XT Plat. Or a 6800GT Ultra .. that would settle everything

confusedx.gif people spending big bucks for looks? Its not important, you can but neons and cathodes AFTER the get a decent setup, i bought the best parts i could get for my budget, and i will, in time, upgrade the looks. As they say, All show and no go.

Looks pretty cool to me.. those new atx cases don't cost that much anymore, you won't be able to buy a decent GPU for the cash spend on the case that's for sure.

What was shocking to me was his terrible affection towards coolmaster fans and his over-cramped and over ventilated casing...sheez..that must have cost him several billion watts per day....

actually i didnt know that my case fans and temp controller were from coolermaster. i just found that out a couple days ago. over cramped? theres lots of space now, i reorganized the wires. as for the VC- i can play ut2004 online on full graphics with no lag (unless its server lag) SAME WITH aao. damn caps lock lol. but i have been on a 16 mb vidcard for the last 4 years... so im not complaining. and whoever said that i at least have a running computer and not just the vidcard- my thoughts exactly. although i made about 200 bucks fixing computers since i bought the thing so my 6800 ultra may be coming soon :) as for the looks vs performance... the case was bought at a store, there was one fan in it. he gave me a two for one deal on the fans/lights and since the lights came in 2's, i only spent about 20 bucks on my pwetty lights whoever said that i shouldnt have gotten the MP3 player... this bitch is 2 years old and still kicking ass. its saved my life so many times homework-wise... the mp3 player and external HDD i had before i built my computer. yay and as for the gajillion watts a day, thats what the fan controls and lightswitch are for. i tun my case fans (cept one intake) to 500 RPM and my cpu fan to 1000 rpm and i dont have the CCFL's on all the time. so its actually not that bad. :D edit: meant to say 'turn them down when im not gaming or programming'
