You would be better off with a Intel Core 2 Duo setup right now. Even the lowend Core 2's are keeping up with AMD's best.

Looks great to me, looking at this chart the FX62 seems like a good choice to me.

I second the remark about the Core 2 Duo. The low-end 6200 can outperform the FX-62 you've selected.

Yeah bigtime, FX62 is a overpriced processor and always was. If you get a 6300 youd have to overclock it to outperform a FX 62 or you can get a 6600 and its faster out of the box and still has overhead to overclock.

That PSU is a bit much for what you're compiling. I'd suggest a 480 or 500 watt PSU instead.

AMDs aren't that overpriced but, the speed they have is easily surpassed with a C2D processor. And the C2D processors are fairly well priced. The only FX processor I would consider buying would be the FX-74 (I think thats what it is) which is a 3.0GHz 2 core processor. That is basically the only one that can keep up with the C2DX processor. I hope yall know what C2D and C2DX means.

Not the regular Athlon 64 or the X2, but the FX series has always been overpriced. Just like the old P4 EE was.
