Having x2 Ultras is a waste of money. If you really want that much power your much better off with x2 GTX instead. Or just hold out until the 9 series release as you said. And if you have that much cash to blow you might as well get 4GB of RAM instead of 2GB.
There is no point in having 4 gigs
I would die without GF

Really? There's a hell of a lot more point in 4GB RAM than there is in a pair of 8800 Ultras. Some games already need 2GB to run at their best with XP. Vista uses about 3x as much RAM as XP, so you'll need more than 2GB.
ok ill bow to your knowledge then and get 4 gb.

Should go with the 8800GT for now. You'll have cash left over for a 9800GTX when it comes out.
OMFG!!! Where am I?!?

If you really want longevity, you might want to wait until the 1st and 2nd quarters of next year when the next generation of quad cores come out. Or if you really want current gen quad cores, the QX6850 is the exact same price as the QX6800, and Intel just released the QX6950, the first of the 45nm tech. It has 4MB more L2, not sure about L1. Here's a comparison... Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!
I think i can wait till 1st quarter could you tell me what i should wait for so i can make a note of it please.
should the 9800 be out early next year

They're saying second half of '08 for the 9800, which may end up being late in the year.
