Alright, so my Dell inspiron 4150 is starting to slow pretty dramatically, what I don't understand is that there isn't much on the laptop itself, microsoft office 2003, Norton antivirus, two Adobe photoeditor programs, and the other basics that come with the computer...oh and about 3 different anti-spyware programs, so i don't think it's spyware, etc.

I have an Inspiron 1000. It's not fast at the best of times, but since I started loading more and more software on it, it became unworkably slow. I helped ease the pressure on it by removing unnecessary programs (You don't need 3 spyware programs, they will probably just conflict with each other and slow the machine down), defragging the hard drive, and removing some of the programs I installed. That improved the performance quite a bit.

Try doing something similar. Of course, the ultimate solution would be to format and start over, but I doubt you would want to do that. ;)

Haha, I would say that is the what you don't need. Ad-Aware and Spybot take care of my needs, and they have never missed something that Microsoft Anti-Spyware will pick up.
