I was nosing around in my schools library the other day and in the way back corner they have like three old Intel 486 computers sitting there, i was like "holy crap they still have theses things!." because two years ago they gave all thier old computers away but these things somehow got missed. the sad thing is they just stopped using them about two years ago when they got thier crappy dells. I just looked up the specs of a 486 (i dont know what the schools are): Intel 486 33-100Mhz / 8-16KB Cache / 25-33Mhz bus speed Anyone elses school have some oldies like these sitting around?

My old school used to have a couple of 286s and 386s stored in the computer class, and the best of them all, an IBM XT! Sadly the XT had a couple of pins broken on the monitor cable, so I never got to test it. It was supposed to have a 20MB hd and a few hundred kilobytes of memory, I think. Don't know if they have scrapped them now, but I certainly hope they haven't.

I had a few 486's laying around and had to just throw them out to the garbage. Who would want them? They are good for nothing these days :)

Who would want them!!! That would be awesome to have around! But anyway, my school has 2 AppleII's collecting dust...I'll see If i can get them before the end of the year. My dad has an AppleII in the attic aswell. I got to play some games on it and it was so amazing. My dad even programmed a few of his own games, like text-based RPGs and whatnot.

our school has 1 486 that I know of, it is running linux i think. It has not been run in a while and the monitor is ghosted(unsable) I have another 486 at home, old IMB. I loved it, I think it needs a new Hard drive.
