Here are my system specs. AMD Ahtlon 64 3500+ 2.2Ghz 512Kb L2 Cache 2000Mhz FSB 200 GB Hard Drive 1024MB DDR SDRAM Dual Channle ---TheCard--- PCIE Connect 3D ATI Radeon X700 Pro 256MB GDDRIII

OK Fear Recommends a 256 MB Radeon 9800 Pro The X700 Pro is a higher card than the 9800 Pro correct? Well I have to run the game with the graphics turned way down and the resolution at 860x480, If I have it at 1024x768 with the graphics low the frame rates are horrrible!!!! And if i have the resolution up and the graphics up, well that just doesn't work.

Do ya'll think I may have a software or hardware conflict? I expected my system to be able to run this game pretty high, but instead I'm barely running it.

Please Help!!!!

I don't think a dated CPU and video card will run F.E.A.R. on high settings, much less with only one gig of RAM. The only reson my system (Athlon 64 3500+, Radeon x850XT, 2gb ram) can run recent games is mainly that 2 gigs. I'd say it's hardware conflict in your case.

Your system ought to run FEAR ok, but probably not too well at max settings. Medium settings @800x600 resolution sound about right for your setup.

How does it do when you set the details to max/max and run the FEAR benchmark? It will give min, max and avg fps. I would suspect your pc should average around 30-40 fps at those settings.

It will give you a report like this one I ran a few months back:

Well I was having trouble running FEAR at 1024* at high details untill I got my 7600 GT Now I can run it maxed out at that res. I'd say to the OP get a new video card! I'd recommed the x850's snice they go for less than 100 dollars In some cases :p

yeah, your going to definately be limited with that video card. Not even mid range, will not allow you to play any new games at even med settings. You'd be okay with 1gb of RAM but a better video card.

I can play fear at absolute max no problem and check out my specs in my sig. I'm pretty sure fear is an ati certified game though.
