I posted a little while ago that my mothers pc needed a new cpu cooler. I got that but its still alot of nosise so its her chieftec 360 watt that makes alot of noise. So i need a psu that is about 400 watt and that is silent, so i looked at this one: http://prisguide.hardware.no/product.php?productId=51701&view=specifications Is that one any good?
ide say so 20 dB(A) is average fan noise, a loud fan is 50 and a quiet fan is 10 (if my memory is correct) Should be plenty of power, and antec generally makes quality products.
as for a cpu cooler, i recommend either cleaning the one you already have and using some higher quality thermal paste, or finding a larger heatsink. I personally dont belive that water cooling is practical because it needs just as many fans for the most part anyway.
Indeed, I'd say that that PSU is fine.

However, if you really want it to be quiet, wouldn't water work, as it helps to muffle/garble the sound?
well i alredy have got a new cpu cooler for her pc. I bught the Zalman CNPS9500 and installed it today. So then the Antec will do? And does anywon know of a good even more silent psu? Oh the psu that is in the pc now makes around 65 dsb.
Really? 65 decibles? Most PSU's make almost no noise.
Well its crap. thats why I need to get a new one...
I have an Antec N11360 it makes no noise at all compared to my old one, its nice and quiet.
then antec it is. I cant seem to find one under 15 dsb though. Anybody that knows one that is under 15 ?
Do you really need it to be under 15 Dsb cuz it's kinda hard to find also 20 dsb is not much
