Hey guys, i need a new gpu because mine is running way too hot, and i have a suspicion that it was the cause of the last computer it was in getting ruined. The card needs to be an ATI, because i believe it works in tandem with the integrated hd3200. I want the card to be under about $80, and it needs to run cool, the coolest, card that has some power to back it up is what i want. I know there are some cards that are HUGE and take up 2 slots, because if a big cooler, i dont think those will fit, because they are extra long.

This card looks ok, but i need advice please!! Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100236L Radeon HD 3650 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

This would be a lot better:

Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 512MB - $79.99

This one would have better cooling if you have room for a dual-slot cooler:

HIS Radeon HD 4670 512MB - $89.99

The 4670 is the best card your going to get for $80, from looking at a few benchmarks it seems to come close to or even beat the HD 3850 in most games, and will completely trash the 3650. The best Nvidia card in that price range is probably the 8800GS/9600GSO (they are actually the same card), which the 4670 beats.

You can see some benchmarks here if you want: AnandTech: AMD Radeon HD 4670: Ruling from Top to Bottom

The problem im having is that i need a card that doesn't run very hot, performance is secondary. Whats more, i just realized that i have less space in my case than previously known. Here's a pic. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v206/sasquonky/DSC00232.jpg

I don't have an intake anywhere in the case, i think i need one, but i don't know where to put one or anything. Does anyone have any ideas how to cool this damn case??

wow, i spent about an hour and a half, and disassembled half the computer, to add an intake that i had bought as a rear exhaust, infront of the hard drive. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v206/sasquonky/DSC00233.jpg

lol im tired now, i can't believe how much work was required to simply add a fan to the computer. Whats weird is that the cpu and system are both idling much lower now, and with the fans spinning at a slower rate. The gpu idle is less too, thank god, about 5C. Under load its about the same, maybe 2-3C less. Do you guys think it would be better if i got rid of the pci fan? It kinda blocks the air leaving the system, especially now, and when i added it , the idle actually went up a degree.

But im still looking for a card that fits and runs cold

Why can't you use a vid card with a dual slot cooler? From that pic it looks like you should have plenty of room. That way none of the heat would build up inside your case, and would likely lower your overall temps.

As for your case, you could replace your fans with some that are more powerful to start.

Im not worried about a dual slot gpu taking more space downwards, but that it would go further inside the case(they seem longer), and would probably not fit. Can you see the little silver heatsink thing to the right of the gpu? I don't think a card that was more than 1 inch longer than my present one, would fit.

And about cooling, i don't think the rear fan effects the graphics card that much, if at all, and i'm going to yank that pci one out because i think it's useless. So what do you suggest fan wise? I put an 80mm up front, i guess i could put a 90mm one that is really powerful, but after that im oit of ideas.
