I built a new computer recently. i installed windows installed the provided drivers from ASUS (on cd) and video card drivers, and everything was PERFECT!!
i was running games and various other things. I then installed zone alarm (for vista 32bit) and it was fine. I shut down and restarted a few times since then.
Then yesterday i tried to start up my PC and it froze when Vista was trying to load. I then went into troubleshooting mode. It turns out that when i disable the integrated LAN/network card i can boot up fine.
I unistalled the drivers and tried to reinstall them and many times the setup freezes while installing drivers. not completely frozen but the mouse is VERY laggy. Booted up in safe mode and vista said that the driver had been succesfully installed but then was unsuccesful on bootup after restart.
I am wondering what my next step should be? I find it very wierd that it all of a sudden happened.. but there is a reason for everything.
I also have re-installed vista twice yesterday... i wonder if vista's built in format is good enough..(it doesnt do a "full" format, just the quick one.)
Should i flash my bios?!? should i do something else!??
compuer hangs on a file called crcdisk.sys when i started in safe mode with networking... dont know what to do!!
i made a boot log when loading windows attachted it... its 25 pages though ^_^ maybe i should show that to asus or microsoft
