Ok heres the question I have,should I buy the Nvidia 7800 and a amd 64 3500. Or should i get like a 6800gt and buy a better processor? I have a 800 doller budget to get a mobo,ram,processor,and a vid card. I was able to buy a 7800,a gigabyte mobo,a amd 64 3500,and 1 gig of ocz ram.

Yeh thats good stick with the 7800 set up tho the 3700 has an extra 512kb of L2 so its up to you

Get a +3700, but if you need money then downgrade to a 6800gt, just make sure you have an SLi motherboard since you can add another one and get %40 more performace in SLi.

That depends on what games you're playing. If they're older, and largely CPU-dependent, then go with a NV4x (6800-series) GPU and a San Diego on the CPU front. If the reverse is true, and you're playing a majority of GPU-dependent games, then flip that around and pick up a G70-based graphics card paired with a Venice CPU.

If you're somewhere in the middle, then go with the latter option also. You'll give up less, overall.

I would get a 3500+ Venice with the 7800GT, for modern games, the GPU (and RAM) is much more important than the processer, and a 3500+ Venice will be plenty fast for some time i would think.
