the splat in the hatno offence to you or mum n dad but tell them to NEVER buy a DELL AGAIN, they are just latency producers in online gaming.......scarrrrrry !

Sorry, but you are incorrect. A computer, whether it's Dell, or Custom does not "produce" latency online...It is entirley reliant on the internet connection, and what other internet based programs you have installed (ie - Firewall, Download Accelerators), Hardware CANNOT "produce" latency.

I imagine that he probably knew that, he was likely just bashing Dell computers... On that note, let's try to keep this thread on topic, and not have it turing into everyone beating up on Dell computers. I for one enjoy intellegent techical disscousion and debate.

Alright, two things to point out.

I doubt that his system would be able to handle a 6800 or and X800. They're just too much for his power supply. When you buy one of those pre-built maufacutor models, you're lucky to get a 300W PSU. My Helewit Packard I have came with a 250W PSU. Not to mention that he'd likely have to add some better cooling too.

That machine needs something a little more moddest. Probably an ATI, since their power supply requirements are a lot lower that most Nvidia cards. Let's say, perhaps an x700? That would do the job.

Secondly, did anyone notice that his memory says 1100MB? Dosen't that seem an odd number?

how can you guys say dells are so bad. ive had mine for 3 years and its better than 3/4 the people here. i have upgraded it and stuff but its still a great machine. you guys cant go cheap when you shop at dell. you gotta spend some extra money to get a great machine from them. dount buy a dell dimension 3000 for $500 bucks and expect it to run bf2 and then complain that dell sucks.

EDIT: ^ to the post above mine. its fully posible to install a 6800 into a dell. i have a 6800 myself. dell underrates their power supplies. i have a 6800 running on my dell dim 8200 without problems.

No-one is bagging Dell's.

Marvinmatthew, stop backseat moderating.

Although that was ironic because i sort of was, but i'm just saying...the mod's have jobs to do they don't need you doing them for them. ;)

How do you define "decent money?"
