Ok, I just bought a new laptop and I turned the volume all the way up but can still barely hear it.

It's a MSI A6200 Win 7 home premium 64 bit 2.13 Ghz dual core 4 gig ram 320 gig hard drive

I even attached outside non-powered speakers and there was very little change(I've heard these speakers at a much louder volume, so it's not them).

Is there any suggestions on how to improve this? So far the only thing that comes to my head would be powered speakers with their own volume control.

Thanks

It is probably some hidden setting. Might be the audio software, maybe a bios setting if it is onboard sound or perhaps one of the settings for windows.

Explore/expand all audio properties and settings to the fullest. There is more than likely an overlooked setting that will boost the audio to a satisfactory level. If you've exhausted all those avenues, perhaps some alternative speakers/outputs would be appropriate. This could be done to determine whether or not the wiring is frayed (internally) or if the jack itself has connectivity issues.
