You know, now adays, there are tons of insanely cool new gadgets coming out, and new technologies being developed it gives me a headache to keep up with it. In this thread i thought it would be cool if everyone posted about new technologies or gadgets they've heard about that are coming out in the future or are being developed.

To start it out, i'm sure many of you have heard of it, but they're developing this things called "e-paper"...it's quite amazing, check it out http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/1292852.stm

Should this be in the tech discussion? One of the technologies I'm exited for is these holographic 3.5" disks that are supposed to be available in 2008 and hold 1.2 petabytes (1200 terabytes, 1,200,000 gigabytes). I think they'll cost around $800 a piece, which isn't bad if you ask me. Also, the triple/quad core processors with Vista (if it takes advantage of them) will be nice.

Digital sound projectors trick your mind into thinking you are expirencing full 5 channel surround sound from 1 main speaker. The speaker consitsts of 47 drivers and a computer that delays the sounds to make it appear they they are comming from behind.

Someone (Toshiba?) brought a working example of the stuff to CES last time 'round.
