Ok two things, 1) I didn't know where to put this, so I'm sorry, this is just where I ended up and 2)I am the ultimate n00b when it comes to anything. I only got the internet about a year ago, so I'm not ver experienced with anything. Anyway, my question is, when people send you spam, and there's that little link at the bottom that says no more thanks and has you put your email there for their "no contact list". Are those good to do, or does giving your email again simply cause more spam?

doing that normall verifies to them that your email is valid and they continue to send you spam. just ignore the stuff.

It simply causes more spam, silly.

I suggest you do what I do; make your e-mail account -very- restricted to where only people from your contact list can e-mail you and everything else goes to your junk mail folder.

you should make a email account just for using to sign up at who require e-mails. www.hotmail.com accounts are perfect for this.

whever you need to us an email address, use your hotmail email and everything will be dandy. no more spam on your main, important email.

dont worry man, being an internet noob is fun.

I'd suggest creating a Hotmail account and using that on any sites that may ask you for your e-mail account. Some sites will share your e-mail with other companies and will only increase the amount of spam you have. Better to put all the garbage in a "cheap" account rather than your good one. [edit]Opps, or what Aeg said. :p[/edit]
