>Omen<;4921659What they ought to do is make one that will zap the user with 2,500,000 volts when trying to use it while driving.[/QUOTE]

AGREED. 100 and 10 %. In NJ it's illegal to drive while talking/texting on a cell...but does that stop the ignorant assholes?

seriously...how do you forget to do that? keep it on your night stand and everytime before you go to bed you plug it in. You're probably like my father: he keeps his in the kitchen near the sink with the food disposal unit...just in case work calls  :D

And soon to be illegal here.

That's pretty amazing, i would have never thought of it using TV/Radio waves. I thought of something though, what if your off in some who the hell knows where place where the radio/TV waves can't be picked up?

I wonder if they will bring this tech to laptops and such someday?

It says in the article that the technology hopefully will generate up to 50mW in the future. Obviously, you can upscale that since a laptop has more space for the equipment, but seeing as most laptops use 20W+ most of the time, the charge capacity just becomes relatively insignificant, and a waste of money and space.

Then your phone won't work anyway because there is no reception whether it has power or not.

Mr. Pedantic;4922760And soon to be illegal here.

It should be illegal everywhere if you ask me.

Those damn cell phone drivers get on my nerves so bad at times.

In the article they did say not to expect this technology to power your home or car, BUT for a laptop it isn't a bad idea. I mean, a little return of power is better than none; especially when everyone/thing is going "green."

Hmmm, using your phone while driving is illegal here too but I'm not convinced zapping someone with 2,500,000 volts when they're driving is necessarily a safer option... :p

Yes and I'm sure the occupants of the car they crash into will learn their lesson as well.

Uh...whatever lesson that might be.
