So today was going to be the big day to start my review for the Coolit OMNI, but it was not meant to be. I cleaned off my 5870, slapped on the OMNI to my 5870 and nothing on the monitor. Okay, might be on too tight, right? Wrong. Still no picture on the monitor. I take off the aftermarket sink and throw on the stock heatsink and it does the same thing. Today is a very very sad day. Luckily, I was able to get ahold of the orig. owner and I'm going to get an RMA for it in his name but delivered to my place. Now to wait and see what kind of card I'm going to get back. All signs point to a 5870 Lightning, but we'll see what actually comes. I wouldn't mind a lightning but that wouldn't really help me at all for this review I'm doing. I guess I just have to play the waiting game and see how it pans out. Until then, I get to bask in the awesomeness that is a Radeon X1950pro. Rocking that 9fps in modern games.
You think you have it bad? You know you're getting at least a reference 5870 in a week. I was running a 6600GT for four months when my 280 died to save for another card. =p
Doubt I'm getting a reference 5870 back. By the sounds of it, getting a Lightning 5870 back which is nice and all but wont work with this heatsink I need to review -.-
