"Nvidia is facing a class action lawsuit for false advertising by not providing stable working drivers for Vista. Nvidia has been accused of closing threads on Nvidia's forum and banning users that request a response from Nvidia, post that their Nvidia hardware does not work under Vista, post that Nvidia software does not work under Vista, post that Nvidia is guilty of false advertising, or threaten to sue Nvidia. Several disgruntled users have set up their own site for discussing their legal options."

OH BOOHOO! So what the drivers don't work! What about sewing the thousands of other hardware companies that didn't make drivers that worked 100% with Vista because its still a BRAND NEW bugy as crap still OS! IT JUST CAME OUT! Vista went through countless beta releases and changed many parts of their bloody code -_- You can't except Nvidia to pull out a driver out of their arse that will work with Vista 100% before its released, nor two-three days after its released -_-

Nvidia is a great company.. How could they do this to them....

Sure you can. Of course you'd have to be an idiot, but you could have unrealistic expectations like that.

I didn't read the article, but I presume they're from the US. We seem to like to sue each other over everything these days.

Speaking of which, I was promised flying cars by now. Here we are 7 years after the millennium, and still no flying cars!!! I'm calling my lawyer. It's time for a lawsuit...

Honestly. If your gonna sue Nvidia over this, then why not sue ATI for the same reason? Their Vista drivers aint so perfect either, bah, ATI drivers has always had issues in its past!

Very funny stuff, I love new O/S releases.

They're more than welcome to waste their time and money on a lawsuit that won't go anywhere though I guess. Sucks that nVidia will have to waste their time dealing with idiots that think compatability means 100% flawless.

So I spend a ton of cash on my new computer. I've done my homework, all the parts have Vista drivers, the day comes and pft, nothing, because some one lied. Would I be pissed because I've been sold something that sis not what it is supposed to be? I go to the supermarket and get a pint of milk, but I find it is only 1/2 a pint? same thing. False advertising. it is illegal in the UK, do not know about US.

So they have every right to sue. Remember companies are there to make money, not there to be your friend, make you happy. Some companies have silly mission statements. I like Allan Sugar's company mission statement Amstrad. His is " we want your money" No bullshit, just honest.

So is it "pft nothing" or "pft they don't work as good as they used to" or "pft they're unstable". Sorry but they never promised you stable drivers, they promised you compatible ones. From what i've been reading it's the latter, the drivers aren't very stable with vista yet. Big surprise, it'll be at least 6 months before you'll get the good stable drivers. If you had actually done your homework you'd have known that one.

If everyone could sue for unstable drivers ATI would have been out of business a long time ago.

Funny .... The ati cards and drivers i have seem to work .... Hmmmm interesting. Nvidia cut their own throats. They had plenty of time to work on this and get themselves stable. It is no different than any other hardware provider. If it says compliant it should work. It doesn't. Nvidia deserves what's happening. I would say the same thing if it were ATI, the thing is, it isn't ati .....

As I said, long time ago. The key word is long.

I'm impressed your ATI drivers are working for you, I know some people who aren't so lucky. Furthermore it isn't just video cards that are wonky on people right now, there's a number of hardware problems with Vista. Not really a surprise at all.

I for one wonder how much of this is incompatibility and how much of it's "LOL I bilt this awesome rigz, on noes it doesn't workz with Vista omgz" syndrome.

Indeed. I hear that Logitech doesn't even have a beta Vista driver yet for their Setpoint input device software.

Come to think of it, I don't even think there is a really good 8800 series driver out for XP yet, so how big of a shock is it that there isn't a great one for Vista?

These lawsuit people seriously crack me up. What's next, when a new game comes along and the drivers aren't immediately up to snuff, is it lawsuit time again? It's not like they can't turn on their computers due to the driver. If it were that bad, then perhaps I'd have some small amount of sympathy for them.

P.S. - ATI is well known for long waits between releasing typically subpar drivers. Not being biased as I'm seriously considering getting a 2xxx series dx10 card.
