I just noticed that the beta version of Opera 9.0b is available for download, I don't know how long it has been out though. Has anybody tried it out yet? I'm one of those people who doesn't like to try out beta software (though I still use MS Windows), but I'm curious...

I'm using it, it's pretty stable at the moment (famous last words.) It's got an inbuilt bit torrent client for the less able people out there who can't work out the settings in other clients which is very simple, you just click on the torrent and it downloads, no fuss no bother. There's something called widgets which I've yet to find a use for, just turned them off eventually. The info column when looking at websites has been cleaned up a lot. History is now categorised by time 'Today' 'Yesterday' 'Earlier this week' etc. Which is a nice touch if you don't like to clean out your history at all. The mail client hasn't changed much - someone really needs to pull their arm out of their arse on that one. Sure it's nice to have it built into the browser and I don't use a different one, but I'd like more functionality to it.

The torrent client sounds handy. I don't even have one of those, whenever I come across a torrent file at the moment I just look elsewhere..
I like the e-mail client as it is. It's fast and simple, does exactly what it says on the tin. Though I don't think I have the spam filter set up properly, as even though a bunch of spam e-mails end up in the spam folder, they still appear in the unread section. And I can't seem to get images to show up in e-mails either, which can be a pain. But I'll happily keep using it as it is, it's much less of a pain than the others I've used thus far.
I just noticed in the similar threads section that you seem to have started all the previous threads about Opera betas, hehe... did you miss this one, or did I just catch it the day it was out?
