Saved? Nothing because they don't exist anyway. Spent? £500-odd on a Vapochill. Why? Because. Still using it? No. Why? Unbelievably loud. I usually have it 3.8GHz on air with a Thermaltake SI-120. Wasn't stable at those speeds, about 4.1GHz was the highest I could get it stable at. Past 4.25GHz it wouldn't load Windows, period. With a volt mod or something it could probably do better, but the Vapochill was annoying me so much that I didn't bother taking the risk of physically modifying my board since I wasn't going to use it overclocked that far anyway. cpu.jpg

I have had my CPU at 4600 speeds and saved about 150 quid buying a 3800 instead. The bllody GPU doesnt want to know though, the ram plays ball but the GPU farts and dies.

Nice.... how did you do that? I have only managed to get 2.4ghz out of mine so far! But it was running on 2.7ghz but after 10minutes it crashed!

I have a chip with the stepping KACAE, these are supposed to be awesome clockers. I have botted into windows at 3.2Ghz but it was not stable and crashed the moment I started Prime95. Also I am using a DFI lanparty motherboards and these are the best boards money can buy if you want to overclock, it gives me loads of options to fiddle with and can apparently cope with well over 300HTT. Lastly I am using an Artic Cooler Pro 64 which keeps my temps low.

Anyway the settings where: 255 HTT x 11 Multi to give 2805 Mhz CPU = @ 1.475v and it gets to about 40C at load. Stock CPU and Stock GPU I get: 01: 28.5k 03: 17.1k 05: 10k 06: 4.6k

With a 600Mhz increase on the CPU my 3DMark scores now stand at: 2001: 33.4k 2003: 18.2k 2005: 11.3k 2006: 5.1k

Shows a nice increase acorss the board and my PC just feels alot quicker, best CPU I've ever brought :D

Drop dead, you bloody flyboy.

I don't want to think what overclocking would do to my poor little PowerBook. Bugger doesn't even have a cooling fan. After 30 minutes of FH I should be able to fry eggs and bacon on the bottom of it.

I got a locked motherboard so I can't OC my 2.4ghz p4 processor. I could get it up high though, it runs around 32C idle and 37c under load. I have had better results with graphics cards. I got a powercolor 9600pro up to 425 core/415 memory. It had a crappy heatsink on it so that expains why I got such a low OC. I got a 9000pro's core up to 330mhz(300 stock) with the stock heatsink. I can't do an ounce of overclocking on my 6800gt, nor is their no need. I got mine fro BFG so it comes with a stock 20mhz overclock on the core. Any more would be useless since my processor/ram is a bottleneck.
