Hey this may be kinda n00bish but i need to know i saw a motherboard that i was thinking of buying but it said that the pcie 16x only ran at 8x ...

does this only happen with cheap or no good motherboard or is this just how all motherboards are...??

It happens in Crossfire/SLI If it has PCIe 1.0 then its at 16*, if its PCIe 2.0 then its at 32*

Some boards don't have full speed (i.e. 16x) PCI-E slots, though any decent board should have at least one for a graphics card.

well i was going to buy it off this guy and it isnt a sli board so i guess it isnt a verygood one...ill keep searching :)
