Yes you need a seperate app or plugin for Windows media player. I use nero show time (Comes with nero strangely enough) but programs like Power DVD. There is the open source VLC player but I am not sure if that supports dvd's (it supports everthing else)
have it but it's not letting me play BSG at all yet it'll let me play other moives...

It does, and by the way version 1.0.0 is out today :) The KM Player works quite fine too. Are you sure the zone for your dvd drive is compatible with the disc you're trying to play ?
I don't get how this VLC player and KM player work

Windows Media Player 11 has built in dvd playback. It works fine. put the disc in your dvd drive. Right click the drive that has the disc, select "open autoplay".
Check the box that says "always do this..." then click on Windows Media Player 11 or what ever you want. Everytime you put a dvd in it will auto play.
sorry there is no open Auto play on my screen...

You do have a DVD drive, right? Might be a dumb question, but if your computer is old enough...
You might try installing a codec pack. K-Lite Codec Pack is a good one. Google will help you there.

VLC is very DVD friendly, I use it all the time and it works great for DVDs and all kinds of other things.
