a friend of mine did this weird tweak where he deleted all my prefetch files, then edited the registry so that it would no longer create new prefetch files.

Well the PC boots a lot faster now...but everything takes SOOOOOO long to load, so i want to reenable my prefetch files....but i haven't teh SLIGHTEST clue where the hell to go in that damn massive registry folder >.<

If you could help i would love you:bows:

I think I've found what your looking for here.

It goes through the different prefetch options and where to change in it the registry.

Worked for me. Anyways, here, I'll copy and paste it for you

[Start] [Run] [Regedit] Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters Modify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as detailed below. Data Type: DWORD Value // Value Name: EnablePrefetcher Setting for Value Data: [0 = Disabled / 1 = Application Launch Prefetch / 2 = Boot Prefetch / 3 = Prefetch All] Exit Registry and Reboot
