What do you think this computer would be worth?

22inch LCD (1680x1050 res) LG Monitor Razer Lycosa keyboard Razer Death Adder Mouse 2.1 Insignia speakers

6gb's DDR2 Ram (OCZ gold) Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.6ghz ATI 4870 512mb GDDR5 Asus P5K premium w/ wifi built in Seagate 350gb HDD 7200rpm Zalman CNPS 9300 NZXT case (don't know which model) Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I'm thinking around $1000+, please let me know what you guys think

Including the display, all the accessories, everything, I'd say maybe $800. The fact that it's pre-owned depreciates it pretty hardcore.

Ask how much he paid for it originally, then how old the PC is. You can use a PC for gaming for 2 to 3 years before you have to upgrade, so if it is one year old and you assume that you can use such a PC effectively for 2 years then you end up with about 50% of the original costs as estimate for its current value.

GPU, monitor, keyboard and mouse are all 1 year old, everything else is 2- 2 1/2 years old.

The idea works for components as well. That might make even a bit more sense as some components, such as the monitor, can be used much longer before they are obsolete. Or if that is too much work go to e-bay and look for how much such components or systems sell.
