Ok, I am a FilePlanet subscriber and whenever I download large files or clients (over 1GB) it sticks in the download manager saying "determining place in line." I've done all the cookie clearing and the temp files/cache clearing. It works with other files but just not with large ones. I've also tried downloading from different servers, increases the temp files size and simply waiting but none of those things work. Please only post related to the problem, if you want to slag off FilePlanet start another thread or PM me.

What speed is your Internet connection? Sometimes servers can refuse your connection if the file is too large and your connection is too slow - it eats up their bandwidth.

Can you download files of this size elsewhere successfully? If so, then it sounds like a problem at FP's end.

Yeah I can. I have contacted fileplanet already about it so maybe they might fix it. There are still a few remotely related things I need to try to make it work. It's just a shame cause the reason I signed up is to be in BETA's which are normally large and can sometimes only be downloaded from fileplanet. :(

Heh, FileFront's system is alot less bugged and crap. Consider a FastPass here, and you won't get crap like that ;)

That definately sounds like a FilePlanet-side bug. You've contacted them, so there isn't much more you or we can do until they get back to you.

Have a look on FileFront for the same file (unless it's an exclusive beta).

Are you implying that FileFront is crap? Well your right, theres nothing I can do and theres probably nothing FilePlanet will do. And, to your other point, ofcourse FileFront is always my super-duper backup :nodding: . One day I might even click on an ad.

Oh. I just tried downloading for a server which doesn't have Fileplanet preceding it's name and it worked so Rookie may very well be correct about the traffic load etc. But this has never happened before.....

I think we all know that even FileFront has its share of ocansional problems. But FilePlanet can be a tremnedous pain. a) they make you login to download, b) they make you install their download manager to download anything from them, c) the speeds aren't that fast, d) They always have wait times.

The only thing that FilePlanet has going for it are all of those betas.
