I recently installed windows vista on me comp on a new hard drive 500GB and i already have a hard drive 160GB with windows xp (x2) installed on it. When iw ant to load from say vista and im on XP i have 2 go to the bios and change round the hard drives as the primary's to load up :( is their a better way 2 deal with this. like get both xp installs and vista on the same list of OS's. Plz any help would b appreciated :D

Putting it simple... When you installed Vista, you stuffed up.

Vista's boot menu can launch XP, but XP's can't launch Vistas as its older. Download a program called "Vista Boot Loader" and try that, it will recreate (Reinstall) the Vista boot loader

Or you could put the Vista install CD in again. Click on the "Repair" link at the bottom left of the screen, and it should give you the option to repair the boot record, or MBR, or startup of your Vista installation.

Well im happy going between the 2 drives now any way as ive taken off vista and replaced the whole 500gig with a 300GB of win xp and 170GB of vista on the 500 gig but. I got a prob with me Mc Afee firewall :(. the problem i have their is in vista i got 2 enable the firewall and it promps asking 4 a password wich i nvr put on during instaltion. :( wolf
