On my Athlon XP 2600+, Geforce Ti4200, Windows XP Home, 512Mb RAM Battlefield runs perfectly. No lag at all. But on my Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo D1840, Pentium4 3,0Ghz, Radeon 9600, Windows XP Home, 512Mb RAM i have some serious lag in multiplayer and in single player mode. It works quite smoothly on a small server and with around 30 bots in single player. But in a 64 player server or with 63 bots in single player, it works terribly, while my other computer runs smoothly. It doesn't matter what graphic or sound details I use. It's still the same. I have Direct X 9.0b and newest Omega drivers. Can anyone help with my problem ? Help will be greatly appreciated. -Chukka

Also games like FarCry and Halo work really smooth. No problems at all in other games besides BF1942. I have tried reinstalling the game too.

Hmm thats weird because halo is more demand then bf1942 because it isnt optimized. Since the drivers are up to date I would try pressing Ctrl - Alt - Del and click processes tab and look for anything that your unsure of what it is. Its a bad idea to end some of these process but look for what could take up more cpu % it should be two numbers most of them are 00. Also try control panel Add and Remove Progarms and looking for wierd apps and things you dont need like msn. (its important that you dont remove anything from windows components section) While in battlefield you could have Fraps running in the background to check what fps your getting. Then you can go to Performance tab under Ctrl - Alt - Del and see if the usage for your cpu gets way up there.

I just formatted my HD and reinstalled Windows so there shouldn't any crap running in the background. Between 0-2% of my processor is used while I'm not doing anything in Windows so that doesn't seem to be the problem. Any other ideas ?

The memory is PC2100. Could that really be the problem ? And why do FarCry and Halo still run fine ?
