I am having a myriad of problems with Mozilla Firefox, especially of late. First off, I suddenly can no longer post on some forums because the buttons don't work anymore. Also, another forum I used to visit suddenly won't load in Firefox at all now. I have to use IE now to post at those places. Also, from time to time Firefox will crash for apparantly no reason at all, and I will have to open a new browser window and try to find my way back to the page I was at before. Yet another problem is that certain Internet based programs like Trend Housecall virus scanner simply will not work in Firefox for me. And it keeps asking for plugins on some websites. If it wasn't for it's tabbed browsing feature, I would abandon Firefox and go back to using Internet Explorer. Can anyone offer some assistance with these problems?

Have you tried reinstalling Firefox and disabling all extensions?

Last time I tried installing the latest version of Firefox, it was completely FUBAR, so I had to go back to 1.0.4. It's most likely pretty outdated now. This is probably a stupid question, but when I install the newer version, do I first need to completely remove the old one? That's what I did last time, but it still didn't work. I'm going to try updating again.

EDIT: Update successful. I now have the latest version, and it seems to be working so far. I hope it stays that way.
