Hey, I'm looking for a nice free process cleaner, if there is sucha thing...

This is purely because I'd have to go through ever process, and start up and I'm just a bit too lazy to do that.

Thanks.

Well, how many processes do you have running in the background at any one given time?

It's not all that hard to identify and dissable many processes manually either.

look in task manager and end some task that u dont need. that is only a temp fix. go to start run "msconfig" go to start up tab and disable some task from coming up on boot up and ill be better off if u have not done so.

I have 63 processes running at start up.

I'm going to guess that they're far too many processes of any kind for a program to fix up, as it could be anything.

So... the safest and best thing for me to do would do it all myself, and google the processes I can't guess at...

Oh, well. Was just wondering if any of you knew of a program that could do that job for me that is all.

Thanks.

I've got a few things taken out now...

Seems to be a bit faster.

Thanks for your help.

63? What the hell? I have 8 startup processes and I thought that was bad. You might want to remove more than, "..a few things."

I've got it down to 53...

I'm not sure what else to take out though. I mean, I use the logitech software, I use bluetooth, I need Norton, I use windows media connect, and other things.

Mate, I think he means that his computer runs with 53 processes. Not that he has 53 in his startup list. Windows alone has far more processes than 8, even a clean install will start with something around 30-40.
