Your pro should have an FSB of 200 mhz and a multiplier of x11 to get 2.2.

i might be wrong on this but, doesnt the processor have the ability to lower and raise it's clock based on the load given to it? i've certainly noticed my p4's clock jump to as low as 2.8 when it's idle. then as soon as i start a program, it overclocks itself to 3.16. odd but convenient.

It shouldn't. I've never seen a P4 do that. But your mobo might have a setting to do it.

great, now im horrified. i have a very cheap motherboard (yet oddly reliable:confused: ) and as many times as i've looked through bios, i havent seen any option like that.

That is certainly true if the pro has C n Q but i think his is earlier and wont have it.

You are running your CPU at a 166mhz FSB. 166 x 11 = 1.83ghz. Go into the bios and manually change your motherboard settings.

P4s with EIST most certainly are supposed to do that. I believe this encompasses everything from the 600-series and on.
