amd is way ahead of intel in that regard, and get much better idle temperatures, and use much less power when idle

It's called Cool 'n' Quiet, or CnQ for short. I don't use it, since it's harder to overclock.

why? I would have though it would make overclocking easier, fewer heat concerns while idle

CnQ is just extremely buggy. Overclocking while running CnQ is on = stability nightmare.

To get into your bios pres delete on bootup. Once inside you should look for an area marked cpu/freq or something of that sorts.

UNDIESRULESYour pro should have an FSB of 200 mhz and a multiplier of x11 to get 2.2.

these are the settings it's on, yet it still doesnt get to 2.2GHz, ah well, i gess it dusnt really matter...
