Just a quick question here, whats the Pentium D in performance standards? I assume it's better than the P4...
It has two cores. Twice the processing power.
But depends on what frequencies you get.
Say a 3.6GHz P4, vs a 2.6GHz Pentium D. I don't know the answer, but it's just an example you should look into.

Go with a better cpu, and upgrade your ram later, although I would suggest just saving up some more money.
