I noticed a sharp decline in my BF2 performance lately, and I wasn't really sure why. I then checked, and found out that my Athlon XP 2500+ is currently running at 1.1 Ghz, normally it is ~1.8, I don't overclock at all. Nothing in the Bios gave me a clear indication why this happened, I don't know why, or how to fix it. Any advice is greatly appreciated, as always.
hmmm...i got the same CPU like u...ok go into the bios and look for a multipulier it will say something like (11.0x) look on witch one its stands...should be 12.0x and memmory fequincy on 166mhz...sorry my english is really bad..i think i had the same problem its a likley bug in the bios lol dunno once i booted up and saying 1100mhz indeed then i went in too bios changed nothing only set the multiplier on the same on witch it was standing and rebooted everything went fine then .... this hhappend to me 2 or 3 times... good luck
Thanks, I know the FSB or whatever is at 166,mhz. I'll try that.
I don't know why it would reset itself on it's own, but hit the "Load Optimised Defaults" option in the BIOS. I've had issues where a newly-installed AXP needs that to run at it's proper clock, and it might've reverted on you.
