hmm you need to buy a ps2 network adapter, but i wonder if they make a slim version. Does the slim version have a bus slot on the back?

Log into your router and give it access. What brand router?
its a linksys router thats all i know. and the slim ps2 has the network adapter built in
i have my *un-slim* ps2 online, and my sis just got the slim ps2, if you read the manual it should say you need broadband, plus i never had to make my router open ports, i just plugged them both together, and registered my ps2 using the network access disk and voila!
ps, have you got a network access disk!? because you will need one
hey Cpt. Sephiroth.... did u register AOL for online gaming before you set up the ps2 online or after?
You will need a PS2 Network Play adaptor. Some ISPs give you these for free. If not they can be bought out game stores. This will allow you to connect an Internect connection to your PS2 and install the software.
Once the adaptor is plugged in, simply connect it to an empty port on your router using a straight-through ethernet cable.
i have the slim ps2 AND the network adapter is built in. my room is to far from the router as well. i was just unplugging my laptop in my room and pluggin my ps2 into the ethernet. it sez if u have aol u will need to configure ur router.... which i did....and after doing so it wouldnt even let me sign on.
i am not on AOL, i am on bt broadband, so i never had to configure anything, the only configuring i had to do was register my network adapter and my ps2 via central station network access disk
hmmmmm i dont know then. is there ne way i could plug my ps2 in without using a router? i tried dial up that wouldnt even work.
