I have been having PunkBuster problems. I have gotten been booted off some servers in Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and Call of Duty because of this same problem...
Server Disconnected - Spartan has been kicked via PunkBuster (for 0 minutes)... PB INIT FAILURE
Now, this has only happened on some servers, but it is annoying nonetheless. I'm not too techy, but it looks like my PunkBuster isn't starting up in the time allowed by the server (I can play for about a minute or two before it boots me). The weird thing is, this never happened before two days ago. I'm wondering, could it be that PunkBuster was updated, and I am getting booted from some servers because they don't have the same version as me? Or am I totally wrong, and PunkBuster is just acting abnormal (as usual)?
same thing except on bfv and i get "kicked via punkbuster (2min)for trying to update pb cilent" i tried updating it from the site and it did nothing i need something like a downloadable and self installing update

Well the server get's updated after the client to allow them to match up properly when the server finally does update, but if you have a fresh install you wont have the older things the server is still using. Try typing "/pb_security 0" without the quotes into the console before joining a server to allow it to download the older bits that the server is still using.
Edit: normaly PB would fall back on the older file if it had it, but seeing as you have a fresh install it wont have anything to fall back on.
where? i installed this game again yeterday(i could not spwan)

Open the console before joining a server and type in "/pb_security 0" without the quotes this tells punk buster to download any updates without checking the authenticity.
Edit: an example of a console would be in the jedi knight games where you press shift ¬ to get the bit at the top of the screen where you type in the commands.
ok now i got it:lol:

Good info Ged.
That might help with the issues in the other thread too: http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?p=1141522#post1141522
Spartan is your machine < 1.5 ghz? How much memory? I think PB Init is a time out that happens when you get into a game slower. I've heard that it happens when you are killed and you are still 999....
Just rumors at this point....

Re: No Packet Flow kick Time for an experiment. I need a volunteer, someone who has been getting kicked with the Packet Flow error. Please download this zip file and unzip the files. Put the PBSEC.HTM into your PB folder, put the other 2 into your PB\HTM folder. Try playing for a while and tell me if you get kicked any more. It contains the latest PunkBuster files, downloaded directly from the PunkBuster web site.
NOTE*** These are for Windows users only. The Linux ones can be found on the Punkbuster web site.
Please let me know if this helps.
