Will/do PCI-E Boards still have an agp slot or does PCI-E compleatly get rid of AGP?I ask this question cuz i was thinking of upgrading to PCI-E for the future, but i have already purchased a X800 XT PE AGP 8x,and i dont want to have to spend more cash for a PCI-E version when it is released.I rather wait till PCI-E has all the bugs worked out and PCI-E cards have went through a couple cycles. Any info you guys have on PCI-E would be greatly appreciated, thank you :p
well, i have been told that they do, that there is no agp slot in... but i dont no for certain as i was only told this. if anyone would like to correct me, plz do
From what I remember none of the new ABIT motherboards have both AGP and PCI-E but I dont know waht other companies are doing. However I am almost positive that they wouldnt put both types of slots on the motherboard.
No mainboards will come with both AGP & PCI-E interface. Trying to get that working is a major waste of time.
I heard that they were going to make the new boards at first to have PCI, PCI-e and AGP 8x at first to let the market transition over to all PCI-e.
Most of the new boards have PCI and PCI-E but they dont have AGP.
Damn... Talk about rendering the use of 9800 Pro's useless then. Damn, I thought I was going to get a 9600XT on Newegg for a good deal, and blamo, I woulnt be able to use it with anything if I upgrade the mobo too.
