First off, I would like to apologize for straying from the Graphics Cards stickie with this question, but I'm supposed to buy one of these sometime in the next two hours for a (not exactly a customer, but someone im upgrading for) and I need a question answered fairly quickly. Well, he want's to play Age of Empires 3 when it comes out in a few days, and right now the demo is lagging quite a bit. He's using a Dell 2400 with some early form of integrated graphics (I forget what was before GMA900), and the computer only has PCI slots. The FX 5700LE is not in the graphics cards rankings in the stickie (its quite a bit slower than the FX 5700, which is in the list), and I was wondering how much of an improvement it is over integrated graphics (the one before GMA900). It is, however, the fastest PCI card available. So to sum it all up, will an FX 5700LE play AoE3 flawlessly? On what settings? If anyone owns an FX 5700LE, or can compare it to another card that would also be helpful. Thanks, and sorry again for not posting in the stickie.

It will run it, not at the highest levels of detail though. It is much better than intrigrated though, takes a load off of ram and processor

The 5700 is the best for PCI cards if I'm not mistaken. It will run it A LOT better than what he has now. But like Pethergreat said, not on highest settings but it wont lag.

Thanks for the info.... all I needed to know. Highest settings arent too important, as long as theres no lag.

Got one other question... I've looked everywhere and can't find any information on the matter, but can anyone take a crack at what the minimum power requirements are for a 5700LE? The system that is going to be upgraded (a Dell 2400) only has a 200W-250W (not sure exactly) power supply, and even though the 5700 series is quite old, I'm afraid that this puny little power supply wont be able to handle this card ontop of a 2.4GHz P4, two sticks of DDR, a HDD, and a DVD drive. Any guesses?

The 5700LE needs at least 250watt.

Video card Power requirements are NEVER right. I come from a forum that uses Shuttles. We have members running 7800GTX's and X850 XT PE cards in a 250W Shuttle....WITHOUT any problems.
