We need to know the speed of your current ram.

Since he has a DDR board, he is not going to be able to use DDR2. There two different non-interchangeable formats.

This ram looks like what you need. Its DDR400, which is what your board can take.

Is your 512MB 1x 512 stick or 2x 256 sticks?

If you have four ram slots, you might be able to run those with two 512 sticks for 1.5GB in dual channel, but the ram will only run as fast are your slowest stick.

Im not quite sure what you mean, I only have 2 ram slots in my computer if thats what your asking. Also if I have two sticks of 256 ram in my computer, would it work if I took both of those sticks out and put a 1 gig stick in? I dont think I can run a 1 gig stick and another one of my 256's at the same time because that would equal something like 1.3 gig and I think that the max ram my computer can handle is one gig.

You won't be able to use the 1gig stick and 256meg stick at the same time. Your best option (in terms of performance) would be two 512meg sticks.

Yeah thats what I thought, I dont really need more then 1gb anyways. I just needed 1gb to meet recommended expectations on oblivion.
