They're all SATA150 to the best of my knowledge. As ^ said, 16mb is better than 8mb but I'd go for this model: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822136012 unless you want the l33t looks of the Raptor X. Which you probably don't...
Yeah I don't get why they did the glass thing so you can look at it. How often does anyone look at their HDD?
So I am going to get a 16mb raptor asap. I already have a harddrive with windows on in and office and everything, when i get the new raptor I wanted to know if i could installed another copy of windows and leave the other copy on the other harddrive. I dont know why i wanted to do this but is it a good idea??? Is it worth leaving? I mean i could just go in to the bios and change the boot order and set the raptor to being first and the other HDD second. will this be bad?
Yea you can have windows on another drive usually it will ask what version you want to boot. Not sure if it does that over two drives only ever done it with one, it became annoying so i went back to one version.
Yes it will work, but you'd be better off only using one. Install it on the Raptor, copy your files over and format the other one. Then move your files back.
If you dont mind me asking why would i be better of only using one???
Well, put it this way...what's the point of having two?
well you said windows takes up about 5gb right? well its already installed and its just going to be a storage drive now why not just leave windoows on it as a back up and if something haves to the raptor i can still use the other one. yes chances are slim that anything would happen but why not since i already have it?
It's just my opinion, I have no need for a spare Windows installation in that I have my PC, my laptop, the PC downstairs, a spare downstairs, along with a G3 PowerMac, two Mac Minis and a spare PC at the Office and a ridiculous amount of Windows install discs and spare hard drives.
If you want to use both then it shouldn't cause any problems but IMO it's pointless.
And no, I said about 2gb...
Ok then, and thank you for you help.
