The forum moderators listed on the bottom are here to help and to keep order. Do not hesitate to contact any of them. Quick Guidelines

  • These rules come in addition to the "Gaming Forums Guidelines"
  • This forum is NOT for game tech-support!
  • There are dedicated forums for game consoles. They can be found here.
  • Do NOT ask for files to be sent to you, whether they are legal or otherwise.
  • Subjects on warez, cracks, serial keys, emulators and anything related will be deleted, full stop.
  • We have a sub-forum for testing out and enquiring about web code, here. This forum is HTML enabled, but abusing this ability will result in a permanent ban.

Posting Tips

When posting a support issue:

  • Search the forums before you post. Check if your problem has been answered or mentioned before.
  • Download and install all the latest drivers and updates available for all elements of your computer (operating system, video cards, sound cards, security programs, etc.). This can potentially solve your problem and will in any case help prevent future problems.
  • Choose a title that reflects the problem in hand. If you just write "Help PLEASE!!!11" then people aren't likely to do so. If you write something to do with the actual problem, users who have experience in solving the sort of problem you are having will see the title and visit your thread to help out. For example, if you have a problem with a new CD drive, a good title would be: ”Newly installed CD-drive does not work!” But a bad title would be: ”I’m so tired of this" Moderators reserve the right to change any thread titles to suit the thread's purpose more fully.
  • Describe the situation as the problem occurred. Mention any recent changes made, such as new programs you have recently installed, any noticeable differences in system behavior, etc..
  • Post ALL of your computer's specifications, including operating system (Windows XP in most cases), updates made to the operating system (i.e. Service Pack 2), what hardware you have installed, drivers, etc.. The more information, the better help you are giving the problem-solvers and the higher the likelyhood of them being able to help you out. Don't waste our time, and we can save yours. If you don't know how to find out your system specifications, download, install and run

Everest Home Edition - this will scan your computer and give you this information. In addition, a few more rules that your attitude must follow:

  • Keep posts in support threads to a minimum. Make your own judgment on whether or not what you have to say will help towards solving the problem. Things like "Oh, that's a stumper" are not helpful and will be deleted. The same goes for one-line comments such as "Did u try [Program X]?", where the member has not given any reason for why this might help and/or instructions on how to carry out this task - they will be removed from the thread.
  • Show respect for anyone helping you - they are using their spare time and are under no obligation to offer their service to you at all. Don't take it for granted.
  • When helping someone, have patience for those who lack knowledge in the specific area of discussion (they could be a Doctor of Astro Physics, for all you know). Arrogance and wisdom is an ugly pair.
  • Certain discussions pairing two different technolgies such as "Intel vs AMD" and "nVidia vs ATi" are pointless and will be closed. Search the forum for these debates - there are hundreds of them.

I have created a list of all the tech support areas for every game in the forums. I know that this will be helpful in providing others with tech support. Here it is:

Act of War- Age of Empires Series- Age of Mythology- Aliens vs. Predator 2- America’s Army- Battlefield 1942- Battlefield Vietnam- Battlefield 2- Bet on Soldier- Forgotten Hope- Black and White 2- Brothers in Arms Series- Call of Duty- Call of Duty 2- Civilization 4- Command and Conquer Series- Counter Strike Series- Dawn of War Series- Devastation- Doom 3- FarCry- F.E.A.R.- GTA: San Andreas- GTA: Vice City- GTA: 3- Guild Wars- Half Life 1- Half Life 2- Day of Defeat Series- Halo Series- Hitman Series- Joint Operations- LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth 2- LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth- LOTR: Online- Medal of Honor Series- Operation Flashpoint/OFP: Resistance- Operation Flashpoint 2- Armed Assault- Quake 4- Return to Castle Wolfenstein- Serious Sam 2- Soldier of Fortune Series- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.- Stargate SG-1: The Alliance- Star Trek: Armada II- Star Trek: Bridge Commander- Star Trek: Elite Force Series- Star Trek: Starfleet Command III- Star Wars: Battlefront- Star Wars: Battlefront 2- Star Wars: Empire at War- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic- Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast- Jedi Knight III- Jedi Academy- The Elder Scrolls Series- The Movies- The Sims- Total War Series- TrackMania Sunrise- Unreal Tournament Series- Warcraft III- World of Warcraft-

I was pretty tired when I did this, so I wouldn't be terribly surprised to find an error or two in the links. Sorry about that. Also I should note that some of these tech support sections have no posts, or are no longer posted on. Tomarow, I will go back online an somehow annotate the forum sections that people still post on, or maybe someone would be nice enough to do it for me. I would appreicate it.

Perhaps it would even be nice to add this list to one of the stickied threads? It just seems like a good idea.

EDIT- Oh my god, none of the links are working. It didn't like it when I copy and pasted the links in. Here's an example: World of Warcraft- [URL="forumdisplay.php?f=175"][/URL

Of course the end of that last line has this ] charector, so the link exists, but takes you no where. I am fixining the problem now.

2ND EDIT- Okay, I believe that I've fixed all the links, but again, I am in bad need of sleep, so I don't have the time or energy to check them all. In the case that there is an error, I've coppied and pasted all of the HTML code into word so I can go find the problem and repost the enitre list since I won't be abble to edit the list tomarow.

It's a nice effort, if a Tech Discussion moderator wants to add it to a sticky go ahead :)

It would probably suit better as part of the rules thread. I'll merge it in later (remind me someone...).
