With a lot of study, and a little efford, in 3 years I am going to be an Electrical Engeneer Technologist! But i really could use a decent laptop. A dual core CPU with atleast 512 megs of ram would be ideal. and a dedicated video card would be prefered. I am going to be writing a lot of papers, be working on some C++ and some CAD as well, and moving around the Region a lot for my CO-OP jobs, so what would you guys recomend? i would like to keep it under $1000 CAD. I was looking at the Dell Inspiron 6400, it seems to fit the bill. anyone elce have any ideas

As always in people in your situation I reccomend an IBM Thinkpad. Tough notebook with plenty of power. Unless your looking to pwn noobs playing BF2 or something than get a Dell. I just have not found anything as tough and solid as an IBM except the new Panasonic's. Your budget is a little low so good luck.
