Hey, I'm trying going to reformat the hard drive in my sister's laptop. The computer is a Compaq Presario 2500, the Celeron model, FYI. I am going to be installing the OEM 'storebought' version of Windows XP Pro. I don't have the Compaq version of XP that came with the computer. My question is, will the OEM version of XP Pro install the drivers I need for all the hardware? I don't have any discs that came with the computer, soooo, I just wanna make sure it'll work properly before I wipe the disk clean ... Thanks in advance ... :nodding:

It will install enough drivers. You'd be well advised to go forth and download the latest and greatest for various bits of hardware, but the Windows installer will get you at least basic functionality.
