i want to start a remote assistance session were i can help my dad in another state with his computer problem. However, i usually disable every service that is not critical to my computer in the services applet in the administerative tools area (since this is my gaming computer). My problem is that i dont know what services are needed for me to take control of my dads computer. I know that terminal services needs to be activated but im not sure what else, any help?

You will need the basic networking services - listed halfway down the applet - to be activated, and you will also need the Remote Desktop Help Session Manager service to be active.
