Alright, so I got a new cellphone for Christmas, its a Sony Ericsson. The ringtones it already has on it are pretty lame, so I wanted a new one. So I downloaded Surfin Bird :bows: So I sent it and some pics :naughty:, to my phone, they poped up in the file storage. I used the pics as my backround no problem. But it wouldnt let me use the song as my ringtone. I know it wasnt a format issue because it was MP3 and there were already MP3 ringtones already on it that were playable. Then I thought it was too big, so I dled an 18 second part of the song, so I put that on my phone, but still it wont let me use it as my ringtone. The message I keep getting is. Cannot set this file as a Ring Tune. Someone please help!
I NEED MY FUCKING SURFIN BIRD!!!!!!!!!!
Do you mean can I play the song on my computer? And the answer to that is yes.
Oh I can play it on the phone, I just cant set it as my ringtune. And I already said its a Sony Ericsson, T715AF.
Last thing, is your phone branded to a provider or is it unbranded, being able to use any simcard. I know a lot of providers block a number of features, setting custom ringtones being one of them.
If that is the case, you can flash he phone to default Sony erricson firmware for the phone.
There's also apparently a program called drm packager which can add a key to an mp3 so that it can be set even if limited http://developer.sonyericsson.com/getDocument.do?docId=76997
not sure on how it works
I like this one. http://www.backyardgardener.com/ringtone/Bedtime_Stories.mp3
Not sure if its Branded or not. How can I check?

Orly? Wtf that's gay. And useless! Why would you want to block someone from using ringtones? O.o
