I hace tried switching to 16 bit. no luck. any sugggestions would be appriciated.
This sounds like an issue with your computer, yes?
I am getting this same error when I try and launch Scapex. Sacrifice itself still works fine. I have tried the 16 bit thing also to no avail. Were you able to fix the problem? If so how? It was really weird becuase I was using it all afternoon and then it stopped working.
Could you be any more unhelpful in your question? What the hell is Sacrifice? What are you computer specs? What exactly happened to give you this error? Is there anything else that you should tell us but didn't?
Very vague.
Well just wasted 40 minutes explaining what Sacrifice and Scapex are and this forum lost the post becuase I guess I took too long to hit submit reply. I am way to annoyed to waste that much time again and have the same thing happen. The game came out around 2001, is made by Shiny, and is way cool and tough to master, nuff said. For some reason I can't get the link to into this post properly to work, but Google the following: sacrifice computer game The first thing that comes up will be a wiki article with more info. As far as the specific error, this is the general order of events: I was using the Scapex editor to build a map for the game. It was working fine all day. I took a Skype video call and launched Scapex to edit while I was talking. After the call ended I closed Scapex (you can't run Sac and Scapex at the same time), launched Sacrifice to see how the changes played and then closed Sac. Tried to launch Scapex and got the above mentioned "Error initializing graphics library." Here is the contents of the Scapex Error file. Setting up wad files... I have uninstalled and reloaded Sacrifice and Scapex already. I also have tried setting desktop to 16bit which has helped people in the past with similiar error. Thanks, Chaseno
Since a few of those errors are DirectX-related, try downloading and reinstalling DirectX 9.0c, or 10, depending on your OS.
I downloaded a direct X installation utility from MS for 9.0c. I ran it and it said everything was installed and ready to go. However, no changes in the error. Thanks for the suggestion. Chaseno
Ok - Well I finally got Scapex to run today. This is really strange though. If I run the program as the administrator it works just fine. No error initializing graphics library. :) The really odd thing is that my normal account that I use has adminstrator privileges. So why would this make the difference? Also, I didn't have to do this before. So why do I have to now? Any one have any thoughts on this? Thanks, Chaseno
