Hello. My screen seems to blink on and off a couple of times. I dont know whats the problem. The screen blinks once or twice when only little activity is going on or when Im playing a video game. It also blinks several times when lag kicks into the game or heavy effects are seen on screen. I've even set all options to low performance on my games but it still is the same. Computer Stats: Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 Processor x86 Family 15 Model 3 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~2793 Mhz NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Anything else I should add, please tell.

a) Is your graphics card okay? Not overheating or anything? b) Is it your screensaver, or some power setting?

A. Of course it is, this computer isnt even 5 years old. Overheating, I dont think. B. I never use a screen saver. My screen refresh rate is 75 hertz, on full hardware accel., and I checked everywhere to find about the graphics cards and everything seems fine to me. But the flickering continues randomly. Would dust be a problem to the computer performance? I havent cleaned it inside for about a month.

Dust that has built up over a single month isn't a cause for concern.

However, the potential overheating of your video card is. Any computer, no matter what its age can be a victim of overheating. A fan could die, and heatsink not work properly.

Secondly, go to Nvidia.com and make sure that you've got the latest video card drivers.

This is your monitor itself thats going off and on? If so, try it on a different computer and see if it gives you problems if you can. it could be alot of things, bad signal from video card, video card overheating, screen going bad ect... do you have your speakers right next to it? those can cause interference.

Also, is this a LCD or a CRT?

But most of the time the MP3 player isnt on. And its LCD. [quote=marvinmatthew]Secondly, go to Nvidia.com and make sure that you've got the latest video card drivers.

How do I know which version is best for my computer? There are many versions that I dont understand that fits my computer's description

Try moving your speakers aways from your screen once, i don't know if speakers affect LCD screens like CRT's. But it's worth a try though.

You need the Geforce & TNT2 drivers for XP/2000. Latest version is the 91.47's.

Download them Here.

Well, there wasnt much change except for better quality. I'll post up if I find it again. Thank you very much to all of you who helped.
