So I'm in work right now with a friend's laptop.

I can't get into anything (including the BIOS) before entering an admin password because the computer is protected by, well, an admin password.

I've never used it, but I'm assuming it's BIOS password prompt? The prompt that comes up has a very BIOS feelt to it - white background, grey boxes, black text, etc. Anyway, problem is that no-one here seems to know what that password is. Also, it's only started popping up in the last couple of days. (How the hell does that one happen???) I'm taking a look at it because the IT guy here is sort of stumped at this point.

What I want to know is, is the process for a BIOS reset the same for a laptop as a desktop. Removing the motherboard battery in other words.

A quick reply on this would be most appreciated.
