Ok my school just made their our server available online. so anything we save on our school server can be accessed by any computer that is connected to the internet. I love this idea and i have already used it a lot. But on my computer i have made a shortcut straight to the website. Now my only question is how can i make it open internet explorer instead of netscape. Netscape is my default web browser but i have run into some issues with the site on netscape and it works fine with Internet Explorer. Is there a way i can have that shortcut open internet explorer instead of netscace? Thanks in advanced!!

Well, since an Internet Shortcut is a default thing set and controlled by Windows, I don't believe there is for this such a thing, as the way it knows what program to open an internet shortcut with is looking at the "default browser" value, rather than you being able to set it seperately.

Go to start>set program access and defaults>select the 'custom tab'> and change your default browser.

For secuity reasons though, you should be using FireFox, not IE or Netscape.

I believe that only shows in SP2.

You should do, the only time I've seen a system without open with is on an older OS such as 98. There is a key you can hold down to show the open with option in the menu, but I forgot it (this being 2006, not 1998...y'know).

Set it as your homepage in IE, then whenever you open IE it'll be there. If you (or anyone else) use IE for anything else and don't want it to open everytime you use IE, bookmark it.

You can set the program to open with for files on your hard drive, but not internet shortcuts.
